   CELEBRATE YOUR LUNGS

We breathe about 25, 000 times a day and it's so natural that we barely notice it. With each breath we take, our lungs function to exchange carbon dioxide with oxygen rich air, which will be carried to all parts of our body. Isn't it enough reason to take care of your lungs?

Healthy Lung Month is an annual event celebrated globally in October, to create and increase awareness on healthy lungs. One culprit of unhealthy lungs is smoking as it causes asthma, bronchitis, and is a major risk factor of lung cancer.

When you stop smoking, your lungs begin to heal and you will experience:
Easier breathing as breathing passages relax2
Cough, sinus congestion, fatigue & shortness of breath decreases2
 Phlegm production & smoker's cough reduces3
Risk of respiratory infections like bronchitis & pneumonia reduces4
Within 2 weeks to 3 months, overall lung function improves4
Lungs begin to heal, improving circulation and walking becomes easier2
In 10 years, your risk of lung cancer falls to the level of a non-smoker4

Using Healthy Lung Month as a platform, the “I Pledge Not To Smoke” campaign was launched. Brought to you by Pfizer Malaysia, this campaign runs continuously to encourage people to experience not smoking. Join Malaysians across the country in making the pledge not to smoke for at least one day (or more, if you wish).

Be part of the pledge HERE.

If you are not a smoker and know someone - either your loved ones, family or friends who smoke, encourage them to take the pledge. Click HERE to send them an invitation.
